Grace Rose lived from 1887 to 1981. She was born in Michigan and lived there most of her life. This is a transcription of her diary written in 1908, the year she turned 21. Friday, June 26, 1908
Ironed in a.m. and washed my "merry widow". I walked down to Cranes' and us girls went to S.S. picnic at Empires. "Dummy." "I am going to ride down with Ward when he comes." Cora "Don't let those girls ride with you!" We did not want to. Ha! Ha! Walked home from Cranes at 9 o'clock. Met Sum and we had quite a visit. Uncle Theo and Aunt Mary over in evening and they went spearing.
