Grace Rose lived from 1887 to 1981. She was born in Michigan and lived there most of her life. This is a transcription of her diary written in 1908, the year she turned 21. Went downtown about 8 o'clock a.m. Saw Glen M. Mr Woodhams caled in p.m. Also Leah Eveleth. Emma and Libbie came up and Chilt told our fortunes with tea-grounds. Great! I walked a piece with them when they went home.
