Grace Rose lived from 1887 to 1981. She was born in Michigan and lived there most of her life. This is a transcription of her diary written in 1908, the year she turned 21. Mama and I went downtown in p.m. I stayed at Ella's all night. Earl and I went to club dance in evening. He was sore at Duffy because he would not let Ray come. Rained hard when we went home and was awful slippery.
