Grace Rose lived from 1887 to 1981. She was born in Michigan and lived there most of her life. This is a transcription of her diary written in 1908, the year she turned 21. Saw the first robin in a.m. Papa took me downtown in p.m. and Belle and I went down to see the river. Rec'd Hope's letter. Went to dancing school in evening and had a fine time. Dandy day.
